Ocracoke is not fancy. Far from it. There are no 5 star hotels on island. In fact, there are no chains on the island - no Marriotts, Hyatts, or anywhere that will redeem points of any kind.

That being said, Ocracoke is 10000% genuine, kind, and completely down to earth with zero pretense. The thred count may not be 4000, but the hospitality is.

The “fanciest” - Thurston House Inn and Ocracoke Harbor Inn

The most “fun” - The Anchorage Inn for proximity or Black Beard’s Lodge for ambience.

There’s really no bad place to stay on the island, and if you’re unsure, just reach out and ask. We can help guide you (bc you know this over-thinker has over thought where everyone would be most comfortable).

If you’re wanting to go in on a house with family or a group of friends, we recommend reaching out to the local realtor rental companies in town. There are only two - Ocracoke Island Realty or Blue Heron. Often times, you can get rentals for less than seven nights (but again, call and ask).
